The Best Book You'll Ever Read

Letters to the Editor: If you binge watch TV, you have time to read a ‘long’ book. I’ve just finished reading James Joyce’s Ulysses and thought it was pretty good.

James Joyce’s Ulysses was a big book to me. The beginning was slow and dense, until the last quarter, when it became a bit of a blur. I could read it as slowly, or as fast as I pleased. The end, in a way, made me feel like I’d finished.

If you only watch one show, I suggest you read Dickens’ Bleak House. It is, in fact, the best Dickens novel you’ll ever read.

The best part of Dickens’ Bleak House is that a lot of people hate it, and when they see you reading it, they either say you’re mad, or that you’re crazy, or they say, “I told you so.” Those are your options, with every other book in the world.

You read the first 50 pages of Ulysses, you are hooked. Reading any book in its entirety, even when it’s difficult, is better than any TV show.

I do not watch TV on the reg. I have a couple of DVDs of shows I don’t care about.

My wife’s favorite show is the Walking Dead. She has every season out.

I recently watched the last season, which is now online. I really enjoyed the story line and the suspense. I think the zombie apocalypse has gone way over the top, and I’ll just leave the zombie to fend for itself.

I think my favorite show is The Big C, on Fox. It is a sports soap opera with a good storyline and some nice actors.
