What’s on TV This Week: ‘The Vow’ and ‘American Horror Story’
The best and the brightest are back in business. “The Vow” premieres tonight at 8 p.m., immediately following “Big Little Lies”. The couple to watch in the romantic comedy is, of course, Kevin and Robin Wright Grant, who have been married since 2013. Robin, with her distinctive beauty, has become quite a media star since being featured in “The Social”. The other star is Sam Frost, who has been working as a screenwriter for years, with a few features, and he will play her big brother in the new show.
Meanwhile, on “American Horror Story”, the second season premieres its fourth episode tonight. “The Shape of Things To Come” will open the show this evening, followed by a double-episode premiere on January 16.

“The Vow” (8 p.m.)
From the creators of “The Affair,” “The Vow” is a modern-day fairy tale, about a wedding that goes wrong and a new relationship that’s forged in these troubled times. Set in 1940’s New York City, the story centers on Gretchen (Julie Roberts) and Nick (Robert Pattison) who are newly married and newly in love. While their marriage is progressing, Gretchen begins to experience post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which soon leads to the breakup of her marriage and her decision to leave Nick for someone else. When Gretchen finally decides to return to Nick, her past comes to haunt her as she experiences flashbacks of Nick and their years together. The story is written by Shonda Rhimes, who had previously written for”Grey’s Anatomy.�
