The Dragon's Solo Performance Is a Long Time Off

Imagine Dragons postpones shows while lead singer recovers from vocal, knee injuries

“I’m taking a long time to get better,” lead singer Zazie is quoted saying in an article on the band’s website today. “Of course I want to be fully healthy, but I’m taking a long time to recover.”

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see whether the postponement of The Dragon’s single “Aeroplane” is really so severe. Also, if the band doesn’t perform this week and next, this could be one of those band’s many cancellations.

The band had been scheduled to perform a May 14 concert at the House of Blues in Dallas.

“After suffering a vocal surgery on May 11 with my vocal chords repaired, it has taken almost 4 weeks, and I still have not finished healing them off,” said Zazie.

The postponement comes after the band underwent a four-hour private surgery to treat their vocal chords and the damaged knee Zazie suffered at a recent concert.

“We had to postpone the show due to my knee injury. It has been going quite well, though!” she said.

I guess one band’s recovery is another band’s downfall, no? Good for Dragon. And good for Zazie for taking the time to get better. Can’t say the same for me!

I wonder how long Zazie will be able to perform at a show. I’m afraid that it took her longer than it should to get her voice back up to performing level, and if her voice is not up to par to do the show, she might be forced to cancel it or else risk loosing her voice.

I guess it will depend on what the doctors say. If she is really doing ok and her voice is not too damaged, there’s no real reason why she can’t sing a few more songs, then the show can be rescheduled.

I’m kind of a fan of Dragon. Zaz
